How Hooligan Alley Comics Came To Be...

The story begins in 1995. A story brewed in my mind. A story that combined some of my favorite things at the time (the mob, vampires, and Mechs). I know, you just said to yourself, "Those three things don't really go together." I managed to make it work as I drew and lettered six issues. Unfortunetly, I had no idea how to get them printed or placed in other hands. Fast forward to 2013; I was living alone, in a room in the basement of an old hotel. I had no windows and when I closed the door it was pitch black. I was really slipping into depression. It was then one day I discovered a passion I had neglected for almost thirteen years...ART. At that point, I broke out my art pad and pencils deciding to draw one of my favorite characters of all-time and I had never drawn him before. So I began my journey...

...When I was done, this is what I had, my very first BOBA FETT drawing. I posted it on Facebook just to show my friends and see what they thought. The reaction was more than I had ever expected. I was off drawing like crazy, and before I knew it I had people offering to pay me to draw them something and HOOLIGAN ALLEY PRODUCTIONS was born.

Over the next few months I moved across the state, battled illness and an amputation; all the while, my art has been the thing that kept my head above water. That's when I decided, there is no better time than now, to pursue my dream and resurrect 'DARKEST NIGHT'. I began to plot out the first story arc and quickly realized I was going to need help writing this thing. At the same time I started working on a short 5 page story entitled, 'EL DIABLO AZUL: IRISH WAKE'. The story was written by Derek Adnams and features the character El Diablo Azul created by Michael Waggoner. The story was to be featured in Issue #2 of the self named anthology book. I enlisted the help of first time comic writter Stephen Kelley. Stephen and I worked together to flesh out the first two issues of 'DARKEST NIGHT'.

At the same time I had several other ideas for books and one of these ideas was called, 'FALL FROM GRACE' (originally titled Hope Falls). Knowing there is no way I could do another title on my own; I set out looking for creators to partner with to get this book made. I received several samples from writers and artists and decided on writer, Daniel Hamm and illustrator, Roy Stewart. They quickly went to work and what they have produced so far is beyond my wildest dreams. Along with that Hooligan Alley Comics are working on at least two more titles and a graphic novel, so stay tuned for those announcements.
