Following the promo released last week, AMC has debuted the first clip from its "WalkingDead" spinoff "Fear the Walking Dead."

 

In the footage, guidance counselor Nancy (Kim Dickens of "Sons of Anarchy") assures a student that news reports of a spreading virus or microbe aren't as serious as he seems to think.

 

"You need to spend less time online, OK?" she tells him. "The authorities would tell us."

 

Set in Los Angeles, the companion series tells the story of the zombie apocalypse from a different perspective from "The Walking Dead."
