"Agents of SHIELD" Confirms "Secret Warriors" for Season 3
In the last season of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his crew learned of the existence of not only another independently operating faction of S.H.I.E.L.D. but also of the Kree-human hybrids, the Inhumans, who were living secretly apart from human society. Now, the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Instagram account has provided another clue with a secret message that confirms the third season will tackle the Secret Warriors.

This refers to "Secret Warriors" by Brian Michael Bendis, Alex Maleev, Jonathan Hickman andStefano Caselli, the series from which the show draws a lot of influence. In that series, Daisy Johnson (which is Skye's birth name) leads a sleeper team of superpowered peers called a caterpillar team. After Terrigen was exposed to the general population at the end of "S.H.I.E.L.D.'s" second season, leading to an anticipated boom of Enhanced people, it seems as though Skye will get her own sleeper super team in the show -- something that was teased when Coulson handed her a blue folder labeled "Caterpillar" in the season finale.
According to Variety, season three will find Coulson "search the world for more powered people and assemble an extraordinary new team to deal with threats unlike the world has ever seen. However, the Agents of SHIELD will soon find out they’re not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans."
Starring Gregg, Chloe Bennet and Ming-Na Wen, "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season three premieres Tuesday, September 29 at 9 pm EST on ABC.
